Biography
The majority of my music has an Americana/folk quality to it. Although it
varies a lot from song to song. The common strand that ties all my songs
together is the substance of the lyrics.  Lyrically I tend to write songs with a
positive message or story.  Heart felt ballads that focus on relationships
seem to be my strongest suit.  I write my songs to piano or guitar and each
instrument seems to create its own signature style shaping the songs
differently.

I grew up in a musical family in northern Nebraska.
I had the great fortune to be raised on a small horse ranch,
with no television for entertainment, I worked hard and played hard outside
in the most beautiful rural setting you can imagine. Evenings would find us
playing games or playing music
as a family.  To this day I have retained those strong ties
to the land that provided for me and my family.
Mom, Dad, sisters, uncles, cousins, we all played and sang
socially or when we'd gather for holidays and such.
I began writing songs and singing in church at the age of 18.
I have been pursuing music more seriously now for about 4 years. I now
reside in Northeast Wyoming with my wife and two kids. I provide
entertainment on weekends at a local Italian Restaurant with a variety of
standard and original tunes.

One of the more memorable concerts I have played recently was at the
Heritage of the American West Museum in Spearfish, South Dakota in July
2008.  I was able to showcase my talent with a 90 minute show of just me
and the piano.  I shared childhood stories and played such a variety as to
appeal to all members of the audience from teens to seniors.  The audience
laughed and cried as they were drawn into my life through my music.  It
was a special night.

I have two CDs available for sale.  The first, "On the banks of the Niobrara"
released in 2005, was a family project featuring all original tunes that I
wrote.  Stringbean Svenson at Fiddlestring Studios in Hermosa, SD
produced and mastered the project.
My mother, sisters and brother-in-law helped with backup vocals and
instrumentation.  "Old Friend" and "This Old Tree" are the most requested
songs from that CD.

My second project, finished in late 2007, is an EP of sorts
featuring four songs that I co-wrote and two that were just written by me.
Four songs were recorded in Nashville with producer Kenny Royster at
Direct Image Studios. The other 2 were home recordings.  My favorite track
on that CD is "Wyoming".

I strive to give people hope and direction if they are struggling with issues
that most of us face at some point.  I also want to share the way of life that
I have lived, for I have been truly blessed with an amazing circle of family
and friends.
